Waterworld Central

For those who crave the summer sun and outdoor activities, it’s time to get keen for Waterworld Central, Australia’s first mobile water park. Sliding into the Sandstone Point Hotel from the 6th - 22nd April from 10 am - 4 pm, you can get in some Easter school holiday fun with giant inflatable pools and slides to splash and play around in. Plummet down the Colossal Dino Slide, relax by the wading pool or get dizzy in a Zorb Cylinder – there’s fun for everyone!

Farm Open Day

Bring the family to the foothills of the D'Aguilar Range on the first Saturday of every month, to get up close and personal with alpacas, donkeys, chickens, guinea pigs, goats, pigs, sheep, cows, and horses at Trevena Glen Farm! The family-run farm welcomes animal lovers of all ages to pat and feed the farm animals, enjoy horse and tractor rides, watch demonstrations, purchase coffee and drinks, and enjoy a sausage sizzle. The next open day will be Saturday 6 April.

Kids Dig It!

Beat the boredom bug by transporting your family into the ancient world of the Roman Empire at Abbey Museum of Art and Archaeology. Learn about their military skills during legionary training or decorate your own Roman shield at their Kids Dig It Roman Family Fun day. Try your hand at archery or dig for ancient treasures in a mini archaeological dig from Monday 8 April until Wednesday 10 April.

The Day My Bum Went Psycho

Reading that, you’re probably thinking “Excuse me? What did you just say?” Well, it’s exactly what you’re thinking…probably. The Day My Bum Went Psycho is the story of a boy, his runaway bum and some of the most dangerous bums in the world! With the aid of some bum-hunters, Zack will track down his missing bum to the heart of an explosive ‘bumcano’ in this ultimate kid adventure. From award-winning author Andy Griffiths and adapted by author Dave Lowe exclusively for Brisbane Arts Theatre. So, yeah, it’s a theatre play and one of our recommended Easter school holiday events for families near Brisbane. Catch it at the Redcliffe Entertainment Centre on Tuesday 9 April or Wednesday 10 April.

Put your creative cap on and get ready to dirty your hands at North Lakes Sports Club on Friday, April 12. Head down to the Banyan Deck and let the kids loose during the Easter break while you enjoy a coffee or lunch. Your little ones can make their own bunny faces at this FREE Craft Day event in the Explorers Kids Club at North Lakes Sports Club – the ideal free Easter event for families close to home.

Redcliffe Festival of Sails Easter Event for Families

Head to the seaside this Good Friday to catch the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race as they sail past the grounds of Redcliffe Festival of Sails, one of the best Easter events for families in the Moreton Bay Region. While at Festival of Sails, your little ones can partake in some Easter themed activities such as an Easter egg hunt, a visit by the Easter Bunny, face painting, amusement rides, a petting zoo and so much more. Located on Sutton’s Beach, you can also have some fun on the water or a play in the sand before strolling through the festival markets to pick up some last-minute handmade knick-knacks. Don’t forget to bring the picnic blanket and park yourself in front of one of the stages for a day of live entertainment with the family.

Egg-cellent Easter Extravaganza

Hop along to Sandstone Point Hotel’s Easter Extravaganza on Sunday, April 21 for live entertainment, rides, a visit from the Easter Bunny and egg hunts from 10 am (with over 6,000 eggs to be discovered). The best news? It’s free and the inflatable waterpark, Waterworld Central, will be on site from 10 am – 4 pm (though entry to the waterpark incurs a fee).
