Movie in the Park

Spend your Saturday night with a sky full of stars, a full picnic basket and a free movie in the Park. Come along to Leslie Park with your friends and family and enjoy the good times together, just don’t forget your blanket and comfy chair!

From Brisbane by Car: Follow Samford Rd. Travel down the road for 5 minutes before turning right onto Dawson Parade. The park is located opposite Arana Hills Plaza.

Mother’s Day Picnic in the Park

Treat your mum this Mother’s Day to a relaxing and fun afternoon with the perfect park picnic. With a massive array of food stalls to choose from, no one is going hungry. The live music performances will be playing for most of the afternoon, all you need to do is find a cosy spot and spend time with the most important lady in your life.

By Car (25min from CBD): Take Kelvin Grove Rd, Enoggera Rd, and Samford Rd out of Brisbane. Take a right on Dawson Parade, left on Patricks Rd and a left on Ferny Way. By Bus (45min): From Roma St Station you can take the BNFG Ferny Grove bus to Ferny Grove (35min) and it’s a short 10min walk to George Willmore Park

Annual Car Boot Sale (Event Cancelled)

Arana Hills Library May Events

The jam-packed calendar this May at Arana Hills will leave you wanting to attend one of these workshops and you are sure to leave with new found knowledge.

Come and meet Australian Author Kerri Turner as she discusses her debut historical fiction novel The Last Days of the Romanov Dancers. Kerri a lover of ballet, history and books introducing a tale of struggling dances in The Imperial Russian Ballet and the choices they are forced to make with consequences.

New Fiction

Meet two local authors - John Hickman and Vicki Stevens. Join John as he introduces Living Upside Down; his laugh-out-loud novel of a young English family’s journey to becoming Australian. Vicki will share Shaking Trees, the first novel in her evocative Aby Eaton mystery series.

Join us for a fun packed party celebrating Carnivale time in the Hills Community. Activities include face painting, balloon animals, craft, robotics and more.

Hills Carnivale

The final week of The Hills Festival will go off with a bang with The Hills Carnivale bringing an exciting and fun evening for everyone to enjoy! The annual event will be the host of a massive array of activities for little and biggest of kids. Entry is free so make sure you bring the whole family or miss out on a whole heap of fun!

If you are looking for something to keep your little ones busy, there will be $2 amusements rides, stilt walkers free face painting, free animal farm, free pony rides and roving musicians to get you grooving and moving. There will also be plenty of stalls both lifestyle and food to browse.

Kids Zone
The Kids Zone, as you have probably already guessed, is perfect for little explorers and is the perfect place for heaps of fun.

There will be a range of free activities and awesome workshops that will run throughout the entire day. With an animal farm, bean bag game, face painting, guinea pig petting zoo, Little Green Thumbs planting activity, pony rides and heaps more, we are certain there is going to be something for everyone!

Not to mention our very special Cheeky Monkey Play centre for the tiny tots who can play in the Soft Ball Play Pit, Play House, Soft Play Shapes and more!


Once you’ve walked in and found a spot to sit back and relax, you can let the kids run wild with some of their saved up pocket-money. With all the rides across the entire park only $2 each.

But do not forget to get back to your picnic rug for 7pm for the big firework finish to end the day and end the fantastic Hills Festival!
