The 2020 Moreton Bay Multicultural Fiesta is set to once again shake up the region!
Every year our event, from a cultural perspective, aims to encourage participation, raise cultural awareness and celebrate and embrace our vibrant multicultural diversity in the Moreton Bay Region.
Each year we bring together local, national and sometimes even international acts to showcase their cultural dance, music and performance from their nations.
We also select amazing multicultural food vendors to bring a truly international flavour to the community.
In 2020 we are excited to continue in our traditions to:
Our mission remains clear as ever; to promote the harmonious coexistence of diverse cultures.
Furthermore, our aims are to encourage the community to come together and to learn from one another and to be relevant, current, engaging, entertaining and educational.
MUSIC, DANCE, PERFORMANCE
A multicultural showcase of song, dance and music displayed live on stage.
Festival-goers will be treated to a truly multicultural experience, witnessing performances from cultural groups and communities residing in and around the Moreton Bay Region and beyond.
INTERNATIONAL FOOD JOURNEY
Time to pack your bags and go on a trip around the world. Get ready to try great street food, greek food and more.
In 2020 Fiesta brings the world to the Moreton Bay Region; selecting only the very best from cultural food vendors who will serve up dishes from countries like South Africa, Australia, Brazil, Greece, Italy, Japan, India and more!
FOOD SAFARI COOKING DEMONSTRATION
A hands-on demonstration to learn how to make various cultural dishes from around the world. Food Safari will offer you a unique insight into how people from different cultures prepare food.
You will also have the opportunity to taste the food cooked. A truly immersive experience for any festival-goer.
We are planning to host workshops and activities like Chinese calligraphy and Mexican handicraft making.
Also, be treated to a unique shopping experience; as we are set to feature cultural crafts, products and souvenirs; a vibrant market bringing different cultures from around the world together in one place.
CULTURE KIDS SPACE
Enjoy stories, songs and rhymes in both English and another language. Culture Kids Space is the place to be to learn more about other cultures; featuring culturally and age-specific workshops in crafts, dance, song and cooking.
A lot of fun for the kids and a great way to build intercultural understanding and embed global and multicultural citizenship perspectives.
